Q: Will I really learn to kill someone?

A: The only way you can truly learn self-protection is to understand exactly how trauma affects the human body. In order to complete your training it is critical you understand how to shut down an attacker's Central Nervous System and, if necessary, kill him, if otherwise he would kill you. You can always ramp down what you do to your attacker (it's very possible that only one strike will disable your attacker and you will chose to stop there). Just understand:  you can never ramp up to lethal movements in the middle of a violent confrontation if you have never practiced them in the first place.

Conversely, such lethal knowledge is extremely valuable when it comes to non-life threatening altercations. By understanding how inflicting trauma affects someone's body, you do not make the critical mistake of striking vital areas of the human body for inappropriate reasons. In my 20 years of training clients I've found that the more capable they are with the lethal aspects of hand-to-hand combat, the less likely they are to overreact in non-life threatening situations.

Q: My martial arts friends say it takes years to become proficient at this stuff. How can I possibly learn it in just 3 days?

A: To learn a combat sport or competitive martial art does require years of training to become a proficient "competitor". Life-or-death confrontations are best handled by understanding the specific principles taught in Target-Focus Training. Martial artists and sport fighters operate within a given set of rules. Those rules are the restrictions that force you to train for years to become proficient. During World War II commandos were trained in lethal hand-to-hand skills in about 14 hours. That program produced incredible results. My TFT has made a quantum leap from those days and that is how you can learn the system so quickly.

Q: I'm not very athletic (or strong or fast or.....). If some thug is bigger than me how can I possibly survive his attack?

A:  All the more reason you need the information I provide in Target-Focus Training, a system based on knowledge and principles not athletic skill or physical size or conditioning. If you are smaller and weaker than your attacker and you have just one opportunity to strike, then it is critical that you know what to do with that opportunity. Your life or the life of your loved ones may very well ride on it.

Q: I'm really out of shape and over 60. Will this training do any good for me?

A:  One of my favorite stories to share is about a 70-year-old woman attacked while getting out of her car by two 200+ pound thugs in their late 20's. As the first attacker approached she dug her high heels into the first target she saw -- the top of his foot. As he reacted to the strike she methodically grabbed his hips and buried her knee into his groin. He reeled back from the blows so violently that the second attacker ran away because he thought she must have had a weapon. Now, if you lined up 2 attackers in their early 20's against a woman in her 7th decade you'd say, "No contest." The younger, stronger men win. But if you understand TFT's principles, even an out-of-shape old lady can turn the odds in her favor if she has the right training to take advantage of those fleeting opportunities that over-confident attackers provide.

Q: I've heard all about people getting hurt practicing this kind of stuff. I'm getting up in years so I'm worried about getting hurt at your training?

A: In all my years of training, no client has ever been seriously injured or hurt to the point they weren't able to complete the training. TFT provides a very safe yet highly realistic training experience that all clients enjoy and want to experience again, soon.

Q: The cost of your training seems awfully expensive.

A: Most martial arts cost you about $100.00 a month average (that's in the low range) when you add up fees, gas, uniforms, testing, special classes, and your time). It takes a minimum of 3 1/2 to around 5 years of diligent practice to achieve the level most would call "Black Belt". That adds up to $4,200.00 to $6,000.00. Then, it takes about 2 more years of training to achieve your 2nd degree black belt. That adds another $2,400.00 dollars in fees, bringing the total up to $6,600.00 to $8,400.00 and 5.5 to 7 years of your life. Your 3-day Target-Focus Training seminar information STARTS at a level higher than even a 2nd degree Black Belt is familiar with in true life-or-death fighting, and by the end of the weekend you will have enough knowledge to be able to intelligently review any martial arts instruction in the world and instantly know whether or not it is based on sound principles (so you'll never waste your time training in ineffective methods again).

Q: All I'd really like to learn is just a few good moves to use in case something happened. Surely I don't need to spend 3 days just for that, do I?

A: That type of approach is an extremely dangerous way to prepare for a life-or-death confrontation. You are banking on the fact that you can find 3 or 4 techniques that can handle any of the infinite methods of attack that can be used by a determined thug. I guarantee that Murphy's law is alive and well, and that your pet technique will not be able to work against the attack you end up getting. I cover this subject in depth during training and show you how to learn to seamlessly handle any attack using the TFT principles. That invaluable information alone is reason enough for attending the course.

Q: I'm a businessperson and my schedule frequently changes. I've lost money before when I couldn't make a date. What about my tuition if something comes up?

A: We offer multiple dates and allow you to apply your tuition to a different session with no penalty. So you won't lose anything when you register for a Target-Focus Training bootcamp.

Q: I live in a very nice neighborhood. I've never been attacked in my life. Why should I worry?

A: 70% who attend my bootcamps have been involved in some type of violent altercation. Many lived in nice neighborhoods.

Q: I'm just too busy right now.

A: That's what 70% thought.

Q: How can I possibly learn this in only 3 days and then use it to save my life, or the life of a loved one, 6 months or even 6 years, later if I don't keep practicing every day?

A: TFT is based on principles that, once learned, remain with you for the rest of your life. We do have clients who take part in our continuing education program that want to improve their fighting coordination but the principles they receive in their first seminar remain the basis on how the deal with any threat to them or a loved one.

Q: I was surprised from behind once and I totally panicked.  Nothing I learned in over 2 years of training was of any help at all. I panicked. If 2 years of training didn't help, how will 3 days?

A: Because everything in the Target-Focus Training system is based on eliminating fear without "trying". I realize this is hard to believe and it is difficult to explain outside the training environment but most people get it the first day. It's like a light coming on. With other programs I suppose you could spend enough years and train your mind to resist it's natural fearful reaction when placed into a violent confrontation, but I don't know many who have that much time or skill. Even then, you'd be counting on not running into an unknown situation that might trigger your body's natural reaction. TFT leaves nothing to chance. There's only one principle-based way to eliminate fear in everyone (not just someone gifted enough to pull it off). If your system doesn't train the correct principles then you likely won't get it, as you found out.

Q: Somebody on the Internet said he'd researched all type of fighting systems and yours was the best but that it wouldn't work if I was facing some drugged-out lunatic who can't sense anything. Is that true?

A: First of all, the Internet's a great place. But as with stock market tips, it can be a real loser if that's where you're planning to get the information you need to protect yourself against a violent threat to your life. As to the comments by this person: while I appreciate their research and remarks, they obviously have never experienced Target-Focus Training. If they had, they would understand that we teach a simple focal shift that your mind easily (and instantly) handles if you ever face this type of individual. You must understand, there is no situation that TFT doesn't prepare you for. It comes back to the same thing: it's not about techniques; it's about principles... universal principles that handle a drug-crazed criminal as easily as someone with all his mental and physical faculties intact.

Q: I'd love to come. Is there any way to write this off as a business expense?

A: Many companies offer this program under their offsite training budget since many of the principles used in TFT improve team-building and business mindset skills. Both of these take-away's make dramatic differences in the work environment and the market share arenas. It makes sense that if you can use Target-Focus Training's principles to save your life and change your defensive posturing in the face of a violent threat that is it very simple to apply the same effective methods to your business life and receive very positive results. We have many testimonials from prior attendees that attest to this fact.

Q: Your guarantee used to only cover day 1. Now it covers the entire 3 days. I think that's great but how can you afford to let me attend the entire training before deciding if it's everything you say it is? I've never seen anyone offer that before.

A: Neither have we. But with other live training programs it often becomes apparent the farther you go into training, that you need more athleticism, more skill, more coordination if you're going to execute their "advanced" techniques taught in the later days. Target-Focus Training is just the opposite. At first there's apprehension that a system can be this powerful without requiring fancy movements. And attendees with years of training in martial arts and other programs often need time to "unlearn" some concepts they spent years learning (see our testimonial pages for more about this). But once we get into the afternoon of the first day everyone begins to see how TFT works. From there the learning curve just continues to accelerate throughout the remainder of training with everyone reaching a similar level of competence by the end of 3 days. Since no one has ever been disappointed, we just decided to take all the pressure off registering for the training by guaranteeing every minute of it. Again, read the comments of graduates going through the entire training and you'll see most want to know when the next class will be held (even though there's no requirement or need to continue on if you don't want to).
